Working to Keep Your American Dream Alive

I will represent you in United States Immigration Court or USCIS hearings and be there for you for the moments in-between.

At J.W. Hanks Law, I know how to navigate the complexities of immigration law. I can be your trusted advisor, offering guidance in several practice areas. I represent clients in cases involving employment-based immigration, family-based immigration, nonimmigrant visas, naturalization, deportation, green cards and more. I guide you through the complicated immigration process, allowing you to continue living your life.

Immigrant and Non-immigrant Visas

Whether you are looking to sponsor a family member for entry into the United States, are seeking an employment-related visa, or need to take any other action in the complicated immigration system, I will handle each detail with the professionalism and personal attention you deserve.

Family-Based Immigration: For some clients, immigration is about bringing their family together in a country with a strong future.  I explain the procedures and requirements that are involved in family-based immigration. Many of my clients need to learn about the best ways to obtain entry into the United States or permanent residence for a relative: parent, spouse, fiancé or fiancée, son or daughter, brother or sister.  I have the skills and knowledge necessary to help your family. Examples of the kinds of family immigration situations I handle include:

  • Permanent residence (“Green Card”) for immediate relatives
  • Entry and permanent residence for non-citizen spouses
  • Preference categories for family-based immigration visas
  • Fiancé or fiancée visas
  • Adjustment of status
  • Consular processing

Employment-Based Immigration: For some clients, the United States is a place of employment or investment in the unique American free-market economy or for others the United States represents an opportunity to share their unique talents — as a recognized athlete, artist or entertainer — and to share the culture of his or her homeland. I will represent multinational executives, managers, professionals, skilled workers, artists, entertainers and athletes in all manners of employment-based immigration, including lawful permanent resident status (“Green Card”) and nonimmigrant work authorizations.

Citizenship: I am an experienced attorney who helps lawful residents complete the requirements to become full citizens of the United States. I carefully guide you through the entire citizenship process.

Deportation Defense: For some clients facing removal or deportation in immigration court, I can work to provide a second chance and a legal pathway to stay in a place they want to call home.  As an experienced immigration attorney, I defend clients who are facing removal proceedings brought by the United States government, it is essential that you speak with an experienced immigration attorney immediately. I can advise you on each aspect of the removal process, including:

  • Bond Hearings
  • Notice to Appear
  • Potential grounds for removal
  • Individual Hearing

Asylum and Victims of Crimes: For some clients, immigration means a future free of abuse, persecution, hatred or violence; the grant of asylum — whether for political or religious reasons, gender or sexual orientation — may be a matter of life and death.

When your right to live and work in this country is on the line, you should not take any chances.
